Without Jesus
This morning as I was walking I was listening to a talk given by Dallas Willard. In the talk he said something that has just been ringing in my ears ever sense. He said;
"We know that we can do nothing without Jesus, but when we do nothing it is without Jesus."
He was talking about about what it means and looks like to live the God with life. A life fully focused and in tuned with God.
I'm left to wonder if this is a word that God might be speaking for me individually or for our church as a whole?

As part of my devotions this morning I chose a 'story' from a journal called Weavings. The name of it was A Hard Time We Had of It. The story tells of a healing walk made on foot to a sugar plantation near Rio de Janeiro. The group was lead by several indigenoius people through some very scary jungle terrain. The journey lasted into the night when the only way to safely move on was to hold tight to the others in the group and follow the one(s) who knew the way. This gave me a mental picture of our church and so many before us in scripture struggling to discern God's will. It feels good to sense a gathering together of the body as we struggle together while keeping our eyes on the ONE who knows the way. In the story as the group arrived at their destination they walked into the clearing where others were waiting for them to begin worship. There was a bright fire and much singing and dancing at their arrival. What a picture that must have been!
